VFW Post 4809 is convenient to all of Hampton Roads, located just off I-264 at the Military Highway exit. We are an active and growing post. We have an active Ladies Auxiliary and one of the states only Jr. Girls programs. Additionally, the Military Order of the Cootie and the Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary are both active in our post as they host many events throughout the year.
We welcome familes with many family oriented functions throughout the year. A picnic area with horseshoes and a play area for the kids is available.
We offer many ways to serve vets and the community, such as
- VA Hospital visits
- Oratorical Contest for local High School students
- Flag education at local elementary schools
- Recognition and Awards Day for the Norfolk Fireman, Paramedic, Police Officer and Deputy Sheriff of the Year
- Recognition of the Teacher of the Year for grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
